Breaking News... 'Kafes' operation in 56 provinces: 150 people captured!

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that 150 suspects have been captured as part of the 'Kafes' (Cage) operation conducted across 56 provinces.

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya stated that 150 suspects have been captured so far in simultaneous operations conducted against members of financial crime organizations across 56 provinces as part of the 'Kafes' operation, and reported that the operations are ongoing.

In a statement on his social media account, Yerlikaya recalled that simultaneous "Kafes" operations were carried out against members of criminal organizations in 56 provinces, including Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir, under the coordination of the General Directorate of Security and the Department of Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime, and by provincial Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime and Financial Crimes branches.

Noting that 150 people have been captured out of 367 suspects evaluated to have committed crimes including usury, aggravated fraud against public institutions and organizations, aggravated fraud against individuals, bid rigging, forgery of official and private documents, violation of the Tax Procedure Law, and counterfeiting, Yerlikaya reported that a large number of unlicensed pistols and a significant amount of money, checks, and promissory notes, believed to have been obtained through these crimes, were seized during the operations.

Congratulating the police officers who carried out the operations, Minister Yerlikaya said, "Our dear nation should rest assured; we will not give any breathing room to financial crime organizations, organized crime groups, and gangs that disturb the peace of our people. Whether at dawn or at sunset, we are on their heels at every moment; we will capture them one by one and deliver them to justice."
