AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan answered questions from journalists following his party's parliamentary group meeting.

When asked about the ECHR ruling regarding Selahattin Demirtaş, he stated, "This country is a country of law. We will abide by whatever the judiciary says on this matter."

Erdoğan left the question "Should the commission go to İmralı?" unanswered.

BAHÇELİ HAD SAID "IT WILL BE A MEANS FOR GOOD"

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) rejected the Ministry of Justice's appeal against the second violation and release ruling regarding Selahattin Demirtaş's detention. This decision finalized the ECHR's ruling on the violation of rights concerning Demirtaş. Following the ECHR's decision, his lawyers filed an application for release with the Ankara Regional Court of Justice.

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli made a statement regarding Selahattin Demirtaş after his party's parliamentary group meeting. Responding to a question about the situation of former HDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş, who is in prison, Bahçeli replied, "He has reached a result through legal channels. His release will be a means for good for Turkey."

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç, who answered questions from members of the press before the AKP's parliamentary group meeting, made the following assessments:

"Regarding the detention, the relevant chamber had issued a violation ruling upon the application made to the ECHR concerning the right to security and detention conditions under Article 5 of the ECHR. The request for this chamber decision to be reviewed by the Grand Chamber was not accepted by the panel; the 5-member panel did not evaluate it. In this respect, the chamber's decision has become final. If the chamber's decision reaches the 22nd Criminal Chamber of the Ankara Regional Court of Justice, which is currently hearing the case, or upon the application of the relevant parties, it will be evaluated by the court. We will all have to wait for the court's evaluation process."
