Breaking News: Mansur Yavaş reacts to the detention of CHP mayors! 'Where are the AKP figures who were given money?'

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş has reacted to the detention of Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar, Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek, and Adıyaman Mayor Abdurrahman Tutdere as part of operations conducted against CHP-run municipalities.

Turkey woke up to dawn raids once again this morning. As part of an investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into allegations of corruption, Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar and Adıyaman Mayor Abdurrahman Tutdere were taken into custody.

Meanwhile, as part of a "bribery" investigation conducted by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a detention order was issued for Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek and two other individuals, and a search was conducted at his home.

Following the detention of the CHP mayors, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) Mayor Mansur Yavaş issued a statement.

In a post on his X account, Yavaş expressed his reaction to the operations and the detention decisions.

Yavaş's statement is as follows:

"Our Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar, our Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek, and our Adıyaman Mayor Abdurrahman Tutdere have been taken into custody due to the slanders of Aziz İhsan Aktaş. This situation 

has once again shown how, unfortunately, the law operates for whom and in what way.

If Aziz İhsan Aktaş has distributed money to everyone, then will this dirty order only target opposition mayors? Where are the AK Party figures who were given money? Why is the same determination not shown for them?

In an order where the law is bent and twisted according to politics, and where justice is applied for one segment while being ignored for another, no one should expect us to trust the rule of law or believe in justice.

We call out from here: The law either exists for everyone, or it exists for no one!

We will not bow down to injustice, lawlessness, or political operations."
