Breaking News: New arrests in Istanbul counterfeit alcohol investigation
In Istanbul, 2 out of 8 suspects detained on allegations of causing the deaths of 6 people through counterfeit alcohol trade across 8 districts have been arrested.

The police procedures for the 8 suspects, who were detained during operations by the Istanbul Provincial Police Department's Public Security Branch teams to apprehend those selling counterfeit alcohol to victims who died from alcohol poisoning across the city, have been completed.
Following health checks, the suspects were referred to the courthouse, where 2 were arrested by the judge, while 6 were released under judicial control measures.
Meanwhile, with these latest arrests, the total number of individuals arrested in the ongoing efforts against those producing and trading counterfeit alcohol has risen to 11.
The 8 suspects had been apprehended in operations conducted by the Istanbul Police Department's Public Security Branch teams, accused of causing the deaths of 6 people through the trade of counterfeit alcohol in businesses operating in the Adalar, Avcılar, Bağcılar, Esenyurt, Bahçelievler, Bakırköy, Fatih, and Başakşehir districts.
