Breaking News... New wave of operations at IMM! Detention warrants issued for high-level officials

A new operation has been launched as part of an investigation into allegations of corruption and bribery at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM). Detention warrants were issued for 25 individuals with addresses in Istanbul, Antalya, Çanakkale, Trabzon, Bursa, and Giresun. It was reported that numerous high-level executives, including IETT General Manager İrfan Demet, have been detained.

A new operation has been conducted at the IMM as part of an investigation carried out by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding allegations of corruption and bribery.

Within the scope of the ongoing investigation into Aziz İhsan Aktaş, who was released after becoming a whistleblower in a criminal organization leader case, it was alleged that irregularities were involved in certain tenders conducted at IMM subsidiaries ISFALT and IETT. Of the 25 individuals for whom detention warrants were issued, 20 have been taken into custody.

In a statement from the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was noted that in the investigation conducted into the "Aziz İhsan Aktaş criminal organization," it was decided to search and seize property at the addresses of a total of 25 suspects in Istanbul, Antalya, Çanakkale, Trabzon, Bursa, and Giresun, and to detain the suspects, who consist of individuals involved in the commissions of tenders that the organization received from ISFALT and IETT and in which it was determined that "bid-rigging" occurred, as well as tender officials.

High-level names are among those detained.
