Breaking News: Prosecutor's report in Narin Güran murder case emerges

The prosecutor's report has been obtained in the investigation into the murder of Narin Güran, who went missing in Diyarbakır and whose lifeless body was found 19 days later.

The lifeless body of Narin Güran, who went missing on August 21 in Tavşantepe Neighborhood of Bağlar district in Diyarbakır, was found 19 days later.

24 people, including family members, have been detained in connection with the investigation.

STRIKING DETAILS IN THE PROSECUTOR'S REPORT

The prosecutor's report regarding the atrocity that broke Turkey's heart has emerged.

The report states that 91 samples were taken, with the suspicion of abuse being taken into consideration.

According to initial observations, it was stated that no sharp-force or firearm injuries were seen on the decomposed body.

CAUSE AND TIME OF DEATH UNCERTAIN

In the prosecutor's report, which stated that no evidence of internal bleeding was found, the following expressions were used: "Due to the decomposition of the body, no statement can be made regarding the time of death; the Forensic Medicine Committee has stated that the exact cause of death can be determined through molecular examinations to be conducted by the Biology Specialization Department of the Diyarbakır Forensic Medicine Institute, pathological studies, and examinations to be performed on samples sent to the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute."

The report stated, "In the initial observations of the Forensic Medicine experts, it was noted that since significant decomposition had begun on the body, it would not be possible to make a concrete statement; that during the autopsy process at this stage, no visible sharp-force or firearm injury or evidence of internal bleeding could be obtained; that no statement could be made regarding the time of death due to the decomposition of the body; and that the exact cause of death could be determined through molecular examinations to be conducted by the Biology Specialization Department of the Diyarbakır Forensic Medicine Institute, pathological studies, and examinations to be performed on samples sent to the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute."

The report included the following statements:

"Within the scope of the investigation conducted by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the deceased Narin GÜRAN, instructions were given on 08/09/2024 for the transfer of the deceased to the Diyarbakır Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy procedures; the body was brought to the Diyarbakır Forensic Medicine Institute Presidency at 10:50; and from 10:50 onwards, autopsy procedures were initiated with Forensic Medicine Group President Eren AKGÜNDÜZ, Morgue Specialization Department Head Servet KUZU, Forensic Medicine Branch Manager Sedat GÜLDOGAN, Forensic Medicine Specialist Emine SEVINDIR, Forensic Medicine Specialist Halit ERÖZ, Forensic Medicine Specialist Ramazan BUĞDAYCI, Forensic Medicine Specialist Kerim AYTAR, Pathology Specialist Zübeyir TURAN, and also Esra ERCIN, who works at Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital and was assigned to the file, along with 3 autopsy technicians and our Public Prosecutors Ahmet KUŞAK, Batuhan KARTAL, and Berat SAGIR.

Before the integrity of the body was disturbed and without removing it from the sack in which it was found, it was subjected to fluoroscopy procedures, and necessary examinations were carried out in the presence of a radiology specialist and forensic medicine experts. Subsequently, biological findings and swab samples that would form the basis for molecular and genetic examination were taken in detail from every point of the body. Samples were taken from the body in a way that would reveal all kinds of crimes, including abuse. After a total of 91 samples were taken, the body was subjected to fluoroscopy again. After the fluoroscopy procedure, the body was taken to the autopsy room for a classic autopsy.

Autopsy procedures were initiated in accordance with the procedure, with all operations performed in the presence of the aforementioned Forensic Medicine experts being recorded on camera. The body was opened by the Forensic Medicine experts. It was observed that there was a detachment from the left leg knee joint. A bone, evaluated as a probable tibia belonging to the body, was found inside the sack where the body was located; this bone was taken under protection, and other bone fragments were also collected and sent to the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute Presidency, as the cause of the detachment in the leg could only be resolved through the examination to be conducted there. Necessary examinations were carried out on internal organs and samples were taken. Samples were taken from almost every tissue on the entire body. It was stated by the Forensic Medicine Committee that the tissue samples taken and the internal organs require pathological studies, that samples were taken from the scalp tissue for the purpose of conducting necessary chemical examinations, that in the initial observations of the Forensic Medicine experts, it would not be possible to make a concrete statement as significant decomposition had begun on the body, that no visible sharp-force or firearm injury or evidence of internal bleeding could be obtained during the autopsy process at this stage, that no statement could be made regarding the time of death due to the decomposition of the body, and that the exact cause of death could be determined through molecular examinations to be conducted by the Biology Specialization Department of the Diyarbakır Forensic Medicine Institute, pathological studies, and examinations to be performed on samples sent to the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute."
