In his statement on his X account, Gürlek noted the following:
"Within the scope of the comprehensive investigation conducted under the coordination of our Adana Chief Public Prosecutor's Office; with the simultaneous operation carried out against 200 suspects in 21 of our provinces for the crimes of illegal betting, qualified fraud, bribery, and money laundering, a heavy blow has been dealt to a multi-layered criminal organization that threatens the peace of our nation and our economy.
As a result of the reports from the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) and the evidence obtained through technical and physical surveillance, the determination that criminal proceeds at the level of approximately 100 billion TL and 2 billion dollars were laundered within the financial system clearly reveals the scale of the struggle being waged.
The determined stance displayed by our Ministries of Justice, Interior, and Treasury and Finance, shoulder to shoulder and in great coordination, is the clearest indicator that we will never make concessions against financial criminal organizations and illegal betting networks.
I would like to thank our Adana Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and our Adana Provincial Police Department for this operation, which was carried out with patience and great care. We will continue our fight against all kinds of criminal structures that target the hard-earned money and future of our citizens with the same unwavering will."
