Members of the terrorist organization ISIS opened fire on security forces during an operation conducted in Yalova. 7 police officers were injured in the ensuing clash. While special operations police from Bursa were dispatched to provide support, it was learned that the clash is still ongoing.
As the incident, which took place during the night, became a major topic of discussion, a statement was issued by the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK).
RTÜK has imposed a broadcast ban on the ISIS attack.
“Important Announcement to Our Broadcasters and the Public!
A temporary broadcast ban has been imposed regarding the incident that occurred within the scope of the operation carried out against the terrorist organization DAESH in our province of Yalova.
In this context; it is important that no broadcasts are made other than the statements to be made by official authorities regarding the process.
Media service provider organizations are required to act with a sense of responsible broadcasting within the framework of the relevant legislative provisions.”
