Breaking News: Second 'Gendarmerie' operation against IMM! Detention warrants issued for 14 people
A new operation has been added to those conducted against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM). It has been learned that in the operation carried out by the Gendarmerie, 13 out of 14 individuals for whom detention warrants were issued have been taken into custody.

A new operation has been launched as part of an ongoing investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM). According to NTV, detention warrants were issued for 14 people, and it was learned that the Gendarmerie is conducting the operation.
In the second operation carried out by the Gendarmerie against the municipality, it is alleged that corruption took place in advertising tender processes.
While detention warrants were issued for 14 people, 13 of them have been detained. It was reported that Özer Yıldız is 'at large'.
STATEMENT FROM THE CHIEF PUBLIC PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office made the following statement regarding the matter:
"It is being investigated that Taner Çetin, Head of the IMM Press, Broadcasting and Public Relations Department, who has been connected to Ekrem İmamoğlu since his time as Mayor of Beylikdüzü, has been involved in corruption at the IMM under the authority of Murat Ongun after İmamoğlu became the Mayor of IMM." The statement indicated that Çetin organized tenders through companies close to him.
The statement continued as follows:
"He caused public loss by providing financial gain to both himself and the criminal organization from the companies that won the tenders. Detention warrants have been issued for approximately 14 IMM personnel, company officials, and employees regarding the tenders Taner Çetin was involved in, on charges of membership in an organization, rigging tenders, bribery, and qualified fraud."

97 PEOPLE ARRESTED
As part of the investigation conducted into the IMM, 97 people have been arrested so far, and judicial control measures are being applied to 206 individuals.
