The trial of former bank branch manager Seçil Erzan, who is accused of defrauding many people, including Fatih Terim, Arda Turan, Fernando Muslera, and Emre Belözoğlu, with the promise of a "high-yield secret fund," continued at the Istanbul 41st High Criminal Court.
The hearing was attended by the detained defendant Seçil Erzan, the lawyers for the parties, and some of the complainants. The court ruled that Hakan Ateş, the general manager of the bank to which Seçil Erzan was affiliated, and his deputy, Mehmet Aydoğdu, be brought to court by force to provide their statements.
"I MISS MY MOTHER, I REQUEST HOUSE ARREST"
In her defense at the court, Seçil Erzan stated that she reiterated her previous statements, saying, "I miss my mother; there is no one to look after her. I want to receive a house arrest sentence. I am in a very difficult economic situation." However, the court decided that Erzan's detention should continue.
FAMOUS NAMES WILL TESTIFY AGAIN
As part of the expansion of the case file, the court decided that the statements of Fatih Terim, Selçuk İnan, Cüneyt Demir, İbrahim Kocabaldır, and Ömer Kahraman should be taken via letters rogatory. Furthermore, it was ruled that 20 people, including Arda Turan, Buse Terim, Emre Belözoğlu, Fernando Muslera, and Volkan Bahçekapılı, must be present in the courtroom to be heard again.
ARREST WARRANT ISSUED
The court panel decided to issue an arrest warrant for the complainant-defendant Süleyman Aslan in order to obtain his defense. The hearing was adjourned until April 21.
