Following the Cabinet Meeting, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek made statements regarding the ongoing efforts against illegal betting and associated money laundering traffic.

Pro-government journalist Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı, who was detained within the scope of an operation conducted in 21 provinces centered in Adana covering charges of "illegal betting," "qualified fraud," "bribery," and "money laundering," was arrested by the court he was brought before yesterday.

"THE PROCESS IS PROCEEDING IN LINE WITH MASAK REPORTS"

Answering a question regarding the arrest of pro-government journalist Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı as part of the illegal betting investigation, Minister Gürlek stated that there was serious financial tracking behind the operation. Reminding that Kütahyalı was arrested for illegal betting, Minister Gürlek said, "There is a major operation being conducted by our Adana Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The process is proceeding entirely based on the reports of the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK). He was caught in MASAK's monitoring during these financial movements. There are allegations such as sending money to illegal betting sites and acting as an intermediary. Our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office examined the financial movements and made this decision in line with its own discretion."

Minister Gürlek reminded that according to current laws, the actions of those who organize illegal betting, act as intermediaries, provide space and facilities, or carry out money transfers to these sites constitute a crime.

ACCESS BLOCKING DECISIONS AND RED NOTICES

Stating that judicial processes regarding suspects mentioned in illegal betting organizations who are abroad are continuing without interruption, Minister Gürlek said that sanctions against digital platforms are also being applied with determination.

Regarding fugitives and access blocks, Minister Gürlek said, "Because it concerns public order, access blocking decisions are being taken quickly for these sites. Red notices have been issued for all suspects abroad, including names mentioned among them, such as former football players (Batuhan Karadeniz)."

Minister Gürlek announced that the fight against illegal betting will continue with determination.
