Statement from Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç on Ogün Samast!

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç spoke regarding the release of Ogün Samast, the murderer of journalist Hrant Dink.

Tunç stated, "There are some aspects regarding the latest indictment process that the public does not know. These matters concern judicial processes. It is not right to pass judgment without knowing the history of the files. It is the judicial authorities that will make the assessment."

WHAT DID HE SAY ABOUT AKŞENER'S 'POLICE CHIEFS' ALLEGATION?

Tunç also responded to the claim by İYİ Party leader Meral Akşener that 'There are some police chiefs who own hotels.'

Tunç spoke as follows;

"It needs to be reported to the judicial authorities, to the Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor; in this sense, if there is such an allegation, it must be pursued. I would like to express that it would be of great benefit for Ms. Akşener to share any concrete information she may have regarding this allegation with our judicial authorities and our Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices."
