According to AFAD data, a 5.9 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Kale district of Malatya yesterday at 10:46. The earthquake, which caused brief panic, was also felt in surrounding provinces.
Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum announced the latest situation regarding the earthquake in Malatya.
Stating that 1,211 reports have been evaluated so far, Kurum reported that 18 buildings with minor damage have been identified in Malatya.
Providing information regarding Elazığ, which was also affected by the earthquake, Kurum said, "In Elazığ, 20 heavily damaged and 517 buildings with minor damage have been identified."
The statement made by Kurum on his X account is as follows:
