Breaking News: Statement from Özgür Özel, who is following the Sinan Ateş trial! 'The funeral is still standing in the middle of Ankara'

CHP leader Özgür Özel followed the Sinan Ateş trial alongside Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. Following a recess in the hearing, Özel made statements regarding the case. Stating that "there are many politicians among the main instigators," Özel said, "If you do not punish the instigators, this will not be resolved."

Former Ülkü Ocakları President Sinan Ateş lost his life as a result of an armed attack he was subjected to in Ankara on June 30, 2022.

The trial of 12 detained defendants regarding the murder of Ateş is continuing today (September 30) at the Sincan Prison Campus by the Ankara 32nd High Criminal Court.

ÖZGÜR ÖZEL IN THE COURTROOM WITH KILIÇDAROĞLU

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel was present in the courtroom along with former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

Sharing a photo from the courtroom, Özel stated, "We will continue to stand by Ms. Ayşe until she says that justice has been served."

 

Following the recess in the hearing, CHP leader Özel made a statement. He made the statement together with Sinan Ateş's family. Sinan Ateş's wife, Ayşe Ateş, was also by Özel's side. 

Özel's statements are as follows:

"There are many politicians among the main instigators.

In the capital, in the 100th year of the Republic, there is a funeral, and it is still standing there. The fact that that funeral has been taken and buried does not lift his blood from the ground.

The father of two daughters, the husband of a grieving mother, lies there. The conscience of Turkey lies there.

If you punish 3-5 street-level killers here, ignore the intermediaries, and do not ensure that the main instigators receive the necessary punishment and are penalized both in the public conscience, politically, and legally, this will not be resolved.

We are calling out from here once again. When will this justice be served? The killers will go to prison. Which ones? Those two, those two, those two!

Ms. Ayşe knows this, his mother knows this. All political friends with a conscience know this.

"FROM NOW ON, THERE ARE TWO ALLIANCES IN TURKEY"

A word from Ms. Ayşe is the word of everyone with a conscience. Ms. Ayşe, do not worry at all; thanks to you, the real villains will be on one side, and the good people will be together. From now on, there are two alliances in Turkey.

One is the alliance of the bad, and one is the alliance of the good. We invite our nation to stand by the side of the good.

Do not leave a murder covered up just so the People's Alliance (Cumhur İttifakı) can continue.

We are calling out to the very valuable executives of the AKP and MHP: Do not be a partner to this evil. Leave the alliance of evil, embrace the good. If you are good, everything will be fine.

Even if we are hungry or in pain together, the good sleep peacefully at night. They cannot sleep peacefully. Leave the side of those who cannot sleep peacefully!

I call all of Turkey to the alliance of the good. This is not a political alliance, but the alliance that will save Turkey is the alliance of the good."
