Statement on 'new constitution' from YÖK President Özvar
YÖK President Özvar made a statement regarding a 'new constitution' at the 2023-2024 Higher Education Academic Year Opening Ceremony.

The 2023-2024 Academic Year Opening Ceremony was held at the Beştepe People's Congress and Culture Center with the participation of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Touching upon the decisions taken for higher education students due to the earthquakes, Özvar also addressed the ongoing debate regarding constitutional efforts.
Making statements on a range of topics from the Islamic world to artificial intelligence, YÖK President Erol Özvar noted the following regarding constitutional efforts:
"Considering the scale of our higher education system in our country, the role it plays in economic development, and our duties and responsibilities in increasing our human capital, I submit to your high discretion the need to review the institutional structure and capacity of our Council of Higher Education within the scope of the civil constitution efforts initiated by your excellency."
