Breaking News: Trustees appointed to Mardin, Batman, and Halfeti municipalities!

Following the appointment of a trustee to the Esenyurt Municipality, trustees have now been appointed to 3 more municipalities.

The Ministry of Interior announced that trustees have been appointed to the Mardin, Batman, and Halfeti municipalities, which were under the administration of the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party).

10-DAY DEMONSTRATION BAN IN MARDİN

The Mardin Governor's Office announced that events such as indoor and outdoor meetings, marches, press statements, and sit-in protests have been banned across the province for 10 days.

In the statement issued by the Governor's Office, it was reported that all programs, excluding events deemed appropriate by the Governor's Office and district governorships, are banned from November 4 to 14.

The statement noted the following:

"In order to prevent actions and attacks that are assessed to directly and clearly constitute the conditions for limitation and prohibition stipulated in our Constitution and laws regarding the fundamental qualities of the Republic, the indivisible integrity of the state with its territory and nation, national security, and the maintenance of public order; to prevent terrorist acts and the commission of crimes; to protect the rights and freedoms of others; and to prevent possible provocations and potential social incidents, all kinds of actions in open areas such as gatherings, all types of indoor and outdoor meetings, rallies, marches, press statements, hunger strikes, sit-ins and vigils, setting up stands, erecting tents, drone filming activities, conducting surveys, distributing leaflets and brochures, hanging posters and banners, and similar activities are prohibited within the borders of Mardin province for 10 days from 07:00 on November 4 to 07:00 on November 14, in accordance with the provisions of Articles 17 and 19 of the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations No. 2911 and Article 11 of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442, excluding events deemed appropriate by the Governor's Office and district governorships."

Speaking to Sözcü TV, Mardin Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Ahmet Türk said, "I learned that a trustee was appointed at 05:30 in the morning. No justification was provided. I think trustees will be appointed to other places as well. I suppose they will appoint the Governor of Mardin. That is what it looks like."

TRUSTEE ALSO APPOINTED TO BATMAN

Governor Ekrem Canalp has been appointed as the trustee to the Batman Municipality.

The Ministry of Interior appointed Governor Ekrem Canalp as the trustee to the Batman Municipality. Canalp entered the municipal building, and security measures were taken in the surrounding area.

Gülistan Sönük, the DEM Party candidate, had been elected to the Batman Municipality in the March 31 Local Administration General Elections.
