Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced on social media that Croatian national Nenad Petrak, an international drug cartel leader wanted by Croatian authorities via an Interpol Red Notice, has been captured in Üsküdar during the "Kartel-2 Operation" conducted in Istanbul. Petrak is identified as the leader of an organized crime group involved in distributing drugs sourced from South America to Europe and was sought as part of the Europe-wide "Adriatica Operation." Minister Yerlikaya provided the following details regarding the operation:

"I want our noble nation to know that we are determined to cleanse our country of national and international organized crime groups and drug traffickers.

Nenad Petrak, the leader of an international drug cartel that ships drugs from South America to Europe and distributes them across Europe, was being sought internationally by Interpol with a Red Notice for the crime of 'Premeditated Murder' by Croatian judicial authorities.

According to the report by the Croatian Office for the Suppression of Corruption and Organized Crime (USKOK), Nenad Petrak is a drug trafficker who connected numerous people in up to nine countries to his own criminal organization.

Under the coordination of the General Directorate of Security, and following international surveillance by our Istanbul Narcotics Crimes Division, Intelligence Division, and Migrant Smuggling and Border Gates Division, it was determined that NENAD PETRAK was in Üsküdar. The 'Kartel-2' operation was immediately launched with the support of the Istanbul Special Operations Division to apprehend him, and the international drug trafficker was captured.

I congratulate our heroic police officers who carried out the operation. I kiss their eyes. Our nation's prayers are with you. May God protect you from all harm.

Our fight against drug traffickers and organized crime groups will continue with increasing determination."
