Bride and groom's wedding vehicle surprises onlookers

Tolgahan Aydemir from Artvin and his bride Şifa Kabayel, who came from Adana, used a minibus from the hair salon to the wedding venue instead of a traditional wedding car to draw attention to public transportation and raise awareness.

After completing their preparations, the couple, Aydemir and Kabayel, went to a minibus stop on Şehit Dursun Acar Street and boarded a minibus on the ‘Çarşı–Köprü’ route. While the minibus driver and passengers could not hide their surprise at seeing the bride and groom, citizens who boarded the minibus along the route enjoyed the moment by taking plenty of photos with the couple.Tolgahan Aydemir, in a statement to reporters before the wedding ceremony, said they took the minibus on their special day to do something different and to draw attention to the use of public transportation, as well as to create a memory.

Stating that he is a wedding venue operator in Artvin, Aydemir mentioned that he had reservations about marriage, saying, "When I saw Şifa, I decided to get married. I wanted something different for my wedding. Everyone has used trucks, buses, horse-drawn carriages, or limousines as wedding vehicles, but no one had ever used a minibus.

I didn't know how the minibus drivers would react either. I wanted it to be a first. People who saw us were very surprised. I raised my hand to stop the minibus, and the driver thought I was asking for directions. When I said, 'No brother, we are going to board the minibus,' he was surprised. Some people asked for permission while boarding. There were those who asked, 'Is the minibus for rent?'" he said.

Şifa Kabayel also stated that she had not imagined such a thing for her wedding, saying, "I wasn't keen on my husband's idea at first. I thought we might get strange reactions, but we received very positive ones. We were very happy. We had a beautiful memory that we will tell our children about," she said.
