The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) has imposed a broadcasting ban on news reports concerning nepotism-related messages sent to Deputy Minister of Justice Ramazan Can that were captured on camera.

Deputy Minister of Justice Ramazan Can's mobile phone received a message stating, "I had told you I was taking the promotion exam, you had asked me to send my information," which has become a major topic of discussion.
It was alleged that Mehmet Ali Çelebi, who switched from the Homeland Party (Memleket Partisi) to the AKP, also requested nepotism in the messages captured by a FOX TV camera.
While Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç stated, "We reject the allegations of nepotism" regarding the correspondence, the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) imposed a broadcasting ban on the news in question.

Deputy Minister of Justice Ramazan Can, who became the center of attention due to the 'nepotism' allegations, defended himself by saying, "There are no 'nepotism messages' or anything of the sort. Look a bit into fundamental rights and freedoms, personal rights and freedoms, and the issue of privacy. Is it appropriate to film a mobile phone for half an hour?"
