Brutal murder in Kadıköy: Young musician found dead with hands, feet, and mouth bound

Çınar Ersanlı, a 40-year-old mechanical engineer and amateur musician, was found murdered in his home in Kadıköy, Istanbul, with his hands, feet, and mouth bound.

The incident occurred on Sunday, August 18, around 11:00 PM, on the 2nd floor of a 15-story building on Saldıray Street in the Fenerbahçe Neighborhood.

According to allegations, relatives who had not heard from Ersanlı since Saturday, August 17, knocked on his apartment door. After the door remained unanswered, they entered with the help of a locksmith and found Ersanlı lying motionless in the living room with his hands, feet, and mouth bound.

Upon notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The medical teams determined that Ersanlı had passed away.

Ersanlı’s body was transported to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death following investigations at the scene.

After the procedures at the Forensic Medicine Institute, Ersanlı was laid to rest in İzmir.

A neighborhood resident describing the incident said, "Was it Saturday night? Or evening? I don't know. We saw 2 suspects. We thought they were thieves. They sent a message. Then they went inside. They never came out again. When his relatives couldn't reach him on Sunday, they entered with the help of a locksmith. When they went inside, they found him with his hands, feet, and mouth bound. Police teams arrived. Then they took the body away. His mother cried a lot. He was divorced. He was a musician, a mechanical engineer, he had finished four universities. It's a tragedy."

2 SUSPECTS DETAINED

As a result of the investigation, the suspects identified as Mehmet Ali U. (19) and Emre E. (26) were detained. It was learned that the suspects, who gave statements at the Murder Bureau, confessed to the murder by explaining all the details.

It was learned that the suspects stated they had met Çınar Ersanlı on the internet some time ago and had gathered on the day of the incident to drink alcohol together.

THEY CONFESSED TO THEIR CRIMES

The suspects, who explained that the victim met them at the apartment door and brought them up to the apartment, stated that an argument broke out between them in the late hours of the night due to the influence of alcohol.

In their statements, the suspects reportedly said, "A fight broke out between us. We beat him during the fight. We thought he had fainted. We tied his hands and feet and covered his mouth with tape. Then we left the house. We learned later that he had died."

The suspects, whose procedures at the police station were completed, were referred to the courthouse.
