A portion of a two-story abandoned building on Elif Efendi Street in the Sütlüce neighborhood of Istanbul's Beyoğlu district collapsed under the influence of heavy rainfall.
Parts of the building, which had been cordoned off with metal sheets by the Beyoğlu Municipality due to it being a dangerous structure, fell onto the street.
TEAMS DISPATCHED
Upon notification, police, fire, and municipal police teams were dispatched to the area. The teams took security measures by cordoning off the street where the building is located.
The street, which had been closed to traffic due to the debris falling from the building, was reopened after municipal teams cleared the road with the help of an excavator.
It was learned that there was no one inside the building, and the teams' investigation is ongoing.
