Business responsible for the deaths of two children shut down

Following the death of two children from the Böcek family, who were visiting from Germany, due to food poisoning, the Beşiktaş Municipality has sealed the business in question indefinitely. The District Directorate of Agriculture has launched an investigation.

A food poisoning incident in Istanbul's Beşiktaş district has deeply affected the Böcek family, who were visiting from Germany for a vacation. The family fell ill after eating at a business in Ortaköy and were rushed to the hospital. Despite all medical interventions, the family's two children, aged 3 and 6, lost their lives.

STATEMENT FROM BEŞİKTAŞ MUNICIPALITY

Following the incident, the Beşiktaş Municipality issued an official written statement. The statement from the municipality read: "We are deeply saddened by the reports reflected in the public domain regarding the Böcek family, who came to Istanbul from Germany, being hospitalized due to suspected food poisoning and the subsequent loss of their two children."

BUSINESS SEALED

While the investigation into the incident continues, the Beşiktaş Municipality has taken a series of steps. The relevant municipal departments have sealed the business suspected of causing the food poisoning indefinitely in order to protect public health and safety.

INVESTIGATION AND SAMPLING INITIATED

The statement further noted: "Samples have been collected by the District Directorate of Agriculture, and necessary investigations have been initiated to evaluate hygiene conditions and clarify the incident."
