United States President Donald J. Trump received Haydar Çolakoğlu, Chairman of the Board of Çolakoğlu Holding, in Washington D.C.
During the meeting, general assessments were made regarding economic and commercial relations between Turkey and the United States.
During the meeting, Haydar Çolakoğlu extended his special thanks to President Donald J. Trump, who has ended eight wars globally in the last ten months, for being the U.S. President who has contributed the most to the establishment of peace in the Middle East to date.
Çolakoğlu, who is a member of the Advisory Board of the Turkish American Steering Committee (TASC), stated during the meeting that President Trump is the U.S. president who has contributed the most to U.S.-Turkey relations. Çolakoğlu shared his personal assessment that the steps taken toward Turkish-American relations during President Trump's term have made a significant contribution to the development of dialogue and mutual understanding between the two countries.
Emphasizing that the positive atmosphere that has recently strengthened between the two allied countries creates significant opportunities in terms of economic and commercial relations within the framework of the spirit of strategic partnership, Haydar Çolakoğlu conveyed the institutional and individual efforts carried out from a private sector perspective toward the goal of increasing the Turkey-U.S. trade volume to 100 billion U.S. dollars in line with the Turkey Century vision of the President of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
U.S. President Donald J. Trump expressed his satisfaction with the visit and conveyed his greetings to Turkey. President Trump pointed out the importance of continuing contacts and dialogue aimed at further strengthening Turkish-American relations and stated that he would be pleased to host Haydar Çolakoğlu in Washington D.C. again.
