The AKP, which suffered a defeat in the March 31, 2024 Local Elections, has carried out numerous mayoral transfers since that date.

While claims that the AKP will continue its transfers remain on the agenda, it was alleged that some district mayors in the capital, Ankara, would resign from the CHP and join the AKP.

Gölbaşı Mayor Yakup Odabaşı, Kalecik Mayor Satılmış Karakoç, and Beypazarı Mayor Özer Kasap responded to the allegations regarding their potential resignation from the CHP via their social media accounts.

"I AM HONORED TO WALK THE PATH WITH MANSUR YAVAŞ"

Sharing a photo with Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) Mayor Mansur Yavaş, Gölbaşı Mayor Yakup Odabaşı noted the following:

“We are serving our fellow citizens in Gölbaşı by working hand in hand with our Ankara Metropolitan Municipality. I express my gratitude to our Mayor Mansur for his valuable support, and I am deeply honored to walk the same path toward the same goal with him.”

"OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH YAVAŞ IS NOT OF YESTERDAY, BUT THE ACCUMULATION OF YEARS"

Kalecik Mayor Satılmış Karakoç also stated the following in his announcement:

"I am following the baseless allegations circulating on social media in recent days with sadness. Our partnership with our Ankara Metropolitan Mayor, Mr. Mansur Yavaş, is not of yesterday, but the accumulation of years. We are people who have believed in the same cause and walked shoulder to shoulder on the same path. He is not just a mayor to me; he is my elder brother. There is no question of separation, breaking away, or seeking a different direction on this path. Our path and our intentions are clear. Under the roof of the Republican People's Party (CHP), we will continue to serve our fellow citizens in Kalecik and Ankara with determination, without discrimination or marginalization."

"OUR PATH WITH YAVAŞ IS ONE, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR US TO PART WAYS"

Beypazarı Mayor Özer Kasap shared the following statement on his social media account, addressing "speculative posts made through some accounts on social media in recent days":

"Our path with our Ankara Metropolitan Mayor, Mr. Mansur Yavaş, is one. He is our elder brother and our fellow citizen; it is impossible for us to part ways. Under the roof of the CHP, we will continue to serve every fellow citizen of Beypazarı without discrimination. Respectfully announced to the public."
