The Presidential Cabinet will meet today at 16:30 at the Palace. According to TGRT Haber, the first agenda item of the meeting, which will be chaired by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, will be the ceasefire process in Gaza. Potential roles and responsibilities that Turkey may undertake within the framework of the declaration of intent signed by mediator countries at the “Middle East Peace Summit” held in Egypt will be evaluated.

The latest situation regarding the second opening process, called Terror-Free Turkey, will be discussed in line with the work of the commission established in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), diplomatic steps to be taken, and the latest reports from security units.

COMPULSORY EDUCATION DURATION ON THE AGENDA

Another important topic for the Cabinet will be the education system. Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin will explain the preparations for reducing the 12-year compulsory education period at the meeting. Tekin is expected to make a presentation regarding the details of the new model and its implementation schedule.

ECONOMY AND BUDGET PREPARATIONS

The economic program carried out within the scope of the fight against inflation will also be discussed at the Cabinet meeting. Budget preparations will be evaluated ahead of the 2026 Central Government Budget Law Proposal, which will be submitted to the TBMM on Friday.
