AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's potential re-candidacy continues to be debated on the political agenda, while a notable call has come from former AKP deputy Mustafa Ilıcalı.
CALL FOR A "TURKEY ALLIANCE" FROM ILICALI
Addressing the opposition, Ilıcalı stated that political parties should act together and support Erdoğan's candidacy.
Speaking on a live broadcast on TYT Türk, Ilıcalı said, "A Turkey Alliance must be established. All political parties should unite and support President Erdoğan's candidacy."
"YOU HAVE NO CHANCE OF WINNING ANYWAY"
Ilıcalı also made assessments regarding the possibility of fielding another candidate against Erdoğan. Calling on opposition parties, including Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was brought to the CHP chairmanship by a nullity decision, and CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, not to field candidates, Ilıcalı said, "Mathematically, if you field a candidate, you have no chance of winning anyway."
