111 CHP deputies have called for an extraordinary congress to be held, challenging the party leadership that took office following a "null and void" decision.

A call for an extraordinary congress was made by 111 deputies to the Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu leadership, which took office following the controversial "null and void" decision regarding the CHP.

"We, as the elected deputies of the 28th Term of the Republican People's Party, never accept our party being shaped by court decisions that are contrary to the Constitution and the principles of the rule of law," the statement said, adding the following:

"The sole power that will decide the direction, course, fate, and management of our party is our delegates, who have been filtered through elections from among our members.

In order to prevent the ongoing crisis from causing further harm to our country and our party, our extraordinary congress must be convened as soon as possible.

Our party is also currently facing the risk of being unable to enter elections if it does not hold a congress by July 25, 2026.

In this context, we call for the Extraordinary Congress to be convened on Sunday, July 12, 2026, so that the will of the Republican People's Party can be manifested again in an indisputable manner.

We respectfully announce to the public that we will protect the Republic, democracy, and our party, which are the legacy of our founder Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, to the end."
