Citizens across the country have been filling the streets and squares for days, expressing their reactions against the arrest decision. Addressing the crowd gathered in front of Saraçhane in Istanbul, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel held a vote in the square and called for a gathering in Maltepe on Saturday. Ekrem İmamoğlu, in a video he shared on social media, asked 'everyone whose heart beats with justice and love for the country' to attend the Maltepe rally.

Sharing a notable detail regarding the call, CHP İstanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik announced that Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu will also be present at the rally. Stating that artificial intelligence technology will be used, Çelik said, 'Ekrem İmamoğlu will deliver a speech using artificial intelligence at the rally to be held on Saturday.'
