Call from CHP's Gökan Zeybek for Mahir Polat: 'He must reach appropriate treatment conditions'

CHP Deputy Chairman Gökan Zeybek visited IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu and other detainees in Silivri. Zeybek made a call to Minister of Justice Tunç for IMM Deputy Secretary General Mahir Polat, who is struggling with serious health problems. 

Zeybek and the accompanying delegation made a statement after the visit. Stating that he also met with Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Mahir Polat, Zeybek said, "We demand his absolute release with the submission of reports regarding his health condition to the court in the coming days."

Addressing Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç, Zeybek used the expressions, "You are causing potential major problems by keeping him here under difficult conditions in plain sight. Carry out the procedures immediately and ensure that Mr. Mahir Polat goes from prison to appropriate treatment conditions." 

Gökan Zeybek said the following:

"The corridors are entirely composed of Mr. İmamoğlu's political companions, senior managers of the Metropolitan Municipality, and the staff who manage the widespread organization network and aid network across Turkey. Among them, there are managers whose reasons for being in prison we still cannot understand. All of the indictments are empty. Today, we exchanged views on the indictments of many of our detained friends. It is an indictment in light of statements given by secret witnesses and documents fabricated based on them. We are going through a political process where the main goal is to block Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu's presidential candidacy, and he is being kept in prison to reduce his place in the hearts of our nation and prevent him from meeting with the people. But we saw that the millions gathered in Maltepe love Ekrem İmamoğlu."
