Zafer Party leader Ümit Özdağ issued a statement following MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's remark that "I will go to İmralı with 3 of my friends if necessary," stating, "The Republic of Turkey is being dragged to a historical breaking point. I invite all our patriotic citizens to the Zafer Party."

MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli made statements that once again shook the agenda during his party's group meeting.

Emphasizing that the reconciliation commission in the Turkish Grand National Assembly should go to İmralı, Bahçeli stated, "If no one approaches this visit, if everyone insists on playing the three monkeys, I say it clearly: I will take 3 of my friends with me, and I will not hesitate or refrain from going to İmralı with our own means and sitting face-to-face around a table!"

Reactions from politicians to these remarks by Bahçeli, which dominated the agenda, were swift. While İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu said, "Let them go," Zafer Party leader Ümit Özdağ also issued a statement.
