Call to the opposition from Mansur Yavaş, who attended the Independent Turkey Party's iftar program: There is torment in separation

Independent Turkey Party (BTP) Chairman Hüseyin Baş attended an iftar program in Ankara. Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş also attended the iftar organized by the BTP Ankara Provincial Presidency. Yavaş drew attention with his call to the opposition here, saying, "They say 'there is torment in separation.' As the opposition, we are obliged to come together."

Delivering a speech at the iftar, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş drew attention to the judicial processes targeting the opposition.

"This is not called law or anything of the sort"

Emphasizing the confidentiality of investigation processes, Yavaş said, "Even though the preliminary investigation is confidential, statements are being published everywhere in sheets without the person's own lawyer being aware. They are shared in WhatsApp groups, and efforts are made to discredit. It is also impossible for those who want to defend themselves to speak. There are no television channels left where they can defend themselves anyway."

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş drew attention to the judicial processes targeting the opposition with the following words:

"God Almighty created the five fingers of the hand differently. This means that since God Almighty created people differently, there is a wisdom in this," "But you want us all to think the same thing. Do not object to us. Whatever we do, see us as right. Do not criticize anything. What happens when you criticize? You take the chairman of the Independent Turkey Party, whose duty is to criticize and who works for a more beautiful Turkey, and try to silence him with a signature. This is not called law or anything of the sort. Well, what happens when there is no law? This is how the economy ends up."

"Prof. Dr. Haydar Baş explained these days"

Drawing attention to the situation in the Middle East in his speech, Mansur Yavaş highlighted the warnings of the founding Chairman of the BTP, Prof. Dr. Haydar Baş, and said: "My dear Chairman, I watched on television. The speeches your esteemed late father made regarding the Greater Middle East Project... He foresaw those days, he explained these days, and unfortunately, we are living them exactly. It was not taken into account, no one listened. It started from Libya, Algeria; Iraq, Syria, Iran... Now, the Israelis, who are practically exterminating and massacring thousands of people in Gaza, find the courage to say, 'The turn is Turkey's.' I say; yes, no matter who draws maps or makes projects, there is one thing they do not see: the foresight of the Turkish nation. Even if we think differently, we, as the Turkish nation, definitely come together as a society in such dangerous positions and know how to resist. The War of Independence is the greatest example of this. They should learn a lesson from this. Even though 100 years have passed, that spirit is within all of us. We were with the families of martyrs yesterday. There are millions of families in Turkey right now. God forbid, when there is such a danger, there are thousands of families who can say, 'My life is sacrificed for the homeland.' May God not let them be missing."

"We are obliged to come together as the opposition"

Expressing that the opposition must act together, Mansur Yavaş concluded his words as follows: "My dear Chairman, I will say this; they say, 'There is torment in separation.' Yes, there is torment in separation. From this hour on, there is no excuse for the opposition, especially, not to see the deterioration in the country and come together. There is a famous saying: It is not about 'the stem of the pear, the stalk of the grape.' We are obliged to come together. Otherwise, we will reach a state where we light candles for our current days. Therefore, I hope we will be one, be alive, be great together. I wish for our Ramadan Feast to be blessed by God Almighty, and I offer my greetings and respects to you all. May God protect you."

"Fear when Turkey is silent"

BTP Chairman Hüseyin Baş also spoke at the iftar program.

Hüseyin Baş made the following assessments in his speech:

"As my dear Mayor mentioned, we went through a legal investigation. A social media attack and an investigation at 2 o'clock in the morning with jet speed... In the days immediately following, a youth organization president had openly insulted and threatened a political party chairman in front of screens, and no investigation had been opened. The will that was awake for us at 2 AM is probably closing its eyes and sleeping at noon. It hears no one! In short, I want to say this; an investigation started. I was subjected to judicial control for 11 months. I am here as a political party leader. I represent a political party. We are trying to represent an idea. At that time, I said to those who govern us: 'Do not be afraid of our speaking, be afraid of our silence. If you are going to be afraid because the country is slipping away or because your power is in jeopardy, fear when Turkey is silent.' And at the end of the 11-month process, we were tried. We went to court and what happened? I was acquitted. The court said: 'There is no crime.'

Well, what will happen to what you imposed on us for 11 months? Now the same is seen in municipal trials. Tomorrow, if there is a little bit of law left, everyone will be acquitted.

"We will defend our democratic rights to the end"

The reason we are experiencing these things right now is that the AK Party will lose the next election. The political will that sees it will lose this is trying to continue its power through other means. But let them try to continue as much as they want. This country is a democratic state of law, and in this country, what the nation says happens. Therefore, as a nation, we have a duty: to defend our democratic rights to the end.

"If Netanyahu's death is confirmed, let me have a sheep sacrifice"

We need an awakening. We need an awakening like the one in 1915 when Mustafa Kemal Atatürk buried the imperialism that was called invincible in Çanakkale to the bottom of the sea.

May the martyrdoms in Iran be a cause for this awakening. I tweeted yesterday. Let me repeat it here. The death news of that Hitler of the 21st century, the murderer Netanyahu, is being discussed. I said if it is confirmed, let me have a sacrificial offering. I thank my dear Mayor and his friends again for their attendance. I wish you a blessed iftar. Thank you."
