After CHP Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer was arrested on allegations of being a "member of the PKK/KCK armed terrorist organization," Istanbul Deputy Governor Can Aksoy was appointed as the trustee to the Esenyurt Municipality.

As soon as the trustee administration took office, it removed Özer's photos from the municipality and his posters from the streets.

Certain changes were also made to the municipality's social media accounts.

Less than 24 hours after the trustee appointment, it was observed that all posts made by the municipality since the March 31 Local Elections had been removed.

Following the Ministry of Interior's announcement of the appointment, it was announced on the Esenyurt Municipality accounts that trustee Can Aksoy had begun his duties, accompanied by his photograph. The post, which was closed to comments, drew reactions.

It did not go unnoticed that after this action on Instagram and X accounts, the most recent posts remaining were related to 'Ramadan events'.
