An armed attack took place at the hotel where social media influencers Dilan and Engin Polat were vacationing in the Çeşme district of İzmir. 37-year-old Can Polat, who served as the couple's close protection officer and was also learned to be Engin Polat's cousin, could not be saved despite all interventions at the hospital where he was taken.

Alaçatı, a popular holiday destination in İzmir, was shaken this afternoon by a bloody raid that took place at a luxury hotel. According to the information obtained, the incident occurred around 14:00 at the hotel where Dilan and Engin Polat were staying.

GUNSHOTS AT THE HOTEL: HIS COUSIN WAS CRITICALLY WOUNDED

In the armed attack carried out by an unidentified person or persons inside the hotel, Can Polat, who was responsible for the Polat couple's security and was stated to be a relative (cousin) of Engin Polat, became the target of the bullets. While there was great panic in the hotel upon hearing the gunshots, numerous police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification.

Could Not Be Saved Despite All Interventions: 37-year-old Can Polat, who was critically wounded and rushed to the hospital by ambulance after the initial intervention at the scene, lost his battle for life despite all the efforts of the doctors.

The Couple's Condition: While no official statement has been made yet regarding the condition of Dilan and Engin Polat, who were at the hotel during the attack, it was learned that the couple escaped the incident unharmed.

POLICE ON ALERT: ATTACKERS FLED BY VEHICLE

Following the murder, teams from the Çeşme District Police Department and the İzmir Public Security Branch Office blockaded the area. Taking the statements of eyewitnesses and examining security cameras around the hotel, law enforcement forces determined that the suspect or suspects fled the area rapidly in a vehicle after the attack.

Launching a large-scale investigation, police teams have set up checkpoints at the entrances and exits of the district and are conducting a multi-faceted investigation to uncover the instigators behind the attack and any connections to illegal betting or commercial disputes.
