Çanakkale Governor's Office announces: No threat to residential areas

Teams are continuing to intervene in a forest fire that broke out in the Bayramiç district of Çanakkale. The Çanakkale Governor's Office announced that there is no situation threatening residential areas due to the fire.

A fire broke out in a forest area in the village of Hacıbekirler in the Bayramiç district at approximately 15:45 for reasons yet to be determined.

Upon notification, teams from the Regional Directorate of Forestry were dispatched to the region.

The fire is being fought with a total of 111 vehicles and 488 personnel, including 9 aircraft and 8 helicopters from the air, and 25 fire trucks, 5 water tankers, 10 bulldozers, 4 trailers, and 5 fire engines on the ground.

Çanakkale Governor Ömer Toraman is also monitoring the firefighting efforts at the Fire Management Center.

No threat to residential areas

In a statement made on the Çanakkale Governor's Office's social media account, it was stated, "As of now, there is no situation threatening residential areas. Our teams are continuing their work without interruption to bring the fire under control as soon as possible."
