In a statement made by the Nevşehir Governor's Office, it was reported that 3 million 846 thousand 703 people visited the museums and archaeological sites in Cappadocia in the first 10 months of 2024.
"POSITIVE MOMENTUM CONTINUES"
Speaking to journalists on the subject, Governor Ali Fidan said, "Tourism activity continues in the Cappadocia region, which is one of Turkey's most important tourism centers, especially in terms of culture and faith tourism. Looking at the data for the first 10 months, we see that nearly 4 million domestic and foreign tourists have visited the historical and tourist centers in the Cappadocia region. This shows that the positive momentum captured in tourism last year is continuing.
We see that the most visited place in the first 10 months of this year was the Göreme Open Air Museum, with the Zelve Archaeological Site in second place and the Kaymaklı Underground City in third. We see that tourism in the region has spread to 12 months. Although the numbers may pull back slightly in certain months, tourism in the region now continues for 12 months of the year," he said.
"WE CONTINUE TO RECEIVE TOURISTS FROM HOME AND ABROAD"
Stating that he believes significant development can be achieved in congress tourism with the opening of new tourist accommodation facilities in the region, Governor Fidan said, "The interest in our region continues. We continue to receive tourists from both home and abroad. We are approaching the end of the year. We invite domestic and foreign guests to see this magnificent region during the New Year holiday. We are especially waiting for those who have not seen it yet.
We also invite those who have seen it to once again witness Cappadocia's fairytale-like, truly worth-seeing Fairy Chimneys, underground cities, valleys, and of course, the balloon flights. We are aware that this is not all there is to it. Our guests will also get to see the architecture, lifestyle, and especially the gastronomy and culinary culture in the region," he expressed.
