Car plows into pedestrians crossing the street
In Konya, 5 people lost their lives and 5 others were injured after a car struck a group of people attempting to cross the street.

The accident occurred in the evening hours on Yeni İstanbul Street in the central Selçuklu district.
According to the information obtained, the car with license plate 42 DU 949, driven by S.S. (19), struck pedestrians attempting to cross the street while traveling on Yeni İstanbul Street.
Upon notification of the accident, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene.
While traffic teams closed the road to traffic and took safety measures, it was determined during checks that 5 people, including children, had lost their lives at the scene. 5 people were also injured in the accident.
The injured were taken to various hospitals by ambulances and placed under treatment.
The bodies of those who lost their lives were taken to the morgue for autopsies following examinations at the scene. Efforts to identify those who lost their lives are ongoing.
The investigation into the accident is continuing.
