Car plunges into Yeşilırmak River in Amasya accident: The moment caught on camera
A collision at an intersection in Amasya turned into a disaster in seconds. While rescue teams saved a mother and her daughter from the car that flew into the river, a pedestrian also narrowly escaped death just moments before the crash.

In Amasya, a car lost control and plunged into the Yeşilırmak River following a collision between two vehicles at an intersection. During the terrifying accident, the mother and daughter inside the car narrowly avoided drowning. It was also revealed that a citizen walking on the side of the road had escaped falling into the river by a hair's breadth just seconds before the crash.
The accident occurred at the intersection near the Saraydüzü Barracks, when the car with license plate 06 DTP 103, driven by Nehir Kamışlı, collided with the light commercial vehicle with license plate 05 DF 596, driven by Fuat Sucuoğlu. The car, sent spinning by the force of the impact, broke through the iron railings next to the entrance of the Künç Bridge and fell into the Yeşilırmak River. The vehicle, which was swept along for approximately 50 meters, overturned, and a race against time began for those inside.
Upon notification, fire department underwater rescue teams, police, AFAD, and medical teams were dispatched to the area. Through the intensive efforts of the teams, the driver, Nehir Kamışlı, and her mother, Hanife Kamışlı, were pulled from the vehicle. Firefighters provided dry uniforms to the mother and daughter, who were rescued soaking wet. The mother and daughter were lifted from the river with the help of a ladder and taken to the hospital by medical teams. It was learned that they are not in life-threatening condition.
The car, which was reduced to scrap in the accident, was removed from the river with the help of a crane, and an investigation into the incident has been launched.

Abdullah Kartal, one of the citizens who witnessed the accident, stated that the car was thrown into the river after the collision, saying, "The vehicle was swept away; the teams rescued the women inside."
Hüsnü Atalar, whose workplace security camera recorded the accident, stated that the collision is clearly visible in the footage, adding, "The vehicle fell into the river. Just 2 seconds before the accident, a pedestrian passed the exact spot where the car fell. A major disaster was narrowly averted," he said.
