The Istanbul Police Department conducted an investigation into a suspicious woman who was conducting reconnaissance around the Beyoğlu office of former Interior Minister and Chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) Interior Commission, Süleyman Soylu.
During the investigation, police teams determined that the suspect was Adalet K., who operates within the DHKP/C armed terrorist organization.
As part of the operation, it was determined that the suspect was living with Mahir D. in Gaziosmanpaşa. In an operation conducted at the address, both Mahir D. and Adalet K. were apprehended and taken into custody.
A search of the residence where the individuals were staying resulted in the seizure of one laptop, two memory cards, and magazines belonging to the organization's media outlets. It was learned that no criminal elements were found during the examination of the digital materials.
ARRIVED BY BUS TO CONDUCT RECONNAISSANCE AROUND THE OFFICE
Camera footage reviews around the office in question determined that Adalet K. arrived by municipal bus on July 15, 2025, sat in the park across from the office, and left the park 10 minutes later to board another bus. It was determined that the woman, a member of the terrorist organization, got off two stops later, entered a business across from the stop, and left the scene on a motorcycle.
The two suspects taken into custody were referred to the courthouse following their interrogation at the Istanbul Police Department. After their statements were taken by the prosecutor's office, both suspects were arrested by the Criminal Judgeship of Peace to which they were referred and sent to prison.
It was learned that Adalet K., a member of the DHKP/C terrorist organization, has 4 criminal records for being a member of an organization, while Mahir D. has 6, and that they had previously benefited from effective remorse provisions.
The motorcycle owner, A.Y., stated in his testimony to the police that he did not know the woman, saying, "I do not know the person named Adalet K. She came to my workplace and introduced herself as Handan. After drinking tea, she stated that she was sick and wanted to go to Perpa. For this reason, I dropped her off at the place she wanted to go on my motorcycle. When I wanted to carry her bag, she panicked and took it; when I touched her bag, I felt weight."
