Gökhan Gün, an electrical engineer working at the US Department of Defense (Pentagon), was caught while taking classified US documents to Mexico. According to the report in Tele1, Gün has been arrested.

According to the US press, Gün, who was arrested on Friday shortly before boarding a plane to Mexico, is accused of carrying more than 150 pages of documents marked 'top secret'.
According to the Washington Post, officials stated that 'Gökhan Gün, who is a dual citizen, had clearance to access the documents as a member of the Department of Defense's civilian workforce, but was not authorized to take them home.'
US officials reported that 'the documents were at a classification level reserved for the most sensitive state secrets.'
The Washington Post reported that US officials said Gün had made 15 international trips over the last two decades, including to Turkey and other countries in Europe and the Middle East.
According to the newspaper, Gün became a naturalized citizen on July 4, 2021, and records show he owns at least three homes in Virginia, as well as properties in the Miami area and Texas.
Gün is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
