Cem Küçük calls for the release of Ayşe Barım and Murat Çalık: He called it a 'matter of conscience' and explained why

Küçük said, "As a matter of conscience, Ayşe Barım and Murat Çalık, who have health problems, should be treated at home or in a hospital. I believe they should continue their treatments outside. My own father recently died of a heart condition when we least expected it. So, this heart issue is a serious matter."

Journalist Cem Küçük spoke about the health conditions of Mehmet Murat Çalık, who was arrested as part of the investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), and talent manager Ayşe Barım, who was arrested as part of the Gezi Park investigation, during a program he attended on Ekol TV.

"Anyone with a conscience would think the same thing about this. For example, when Mahir Polat was arrested, he was a heart patient, had undergone two surgeries, and had stents; he had requested to be released under house arrest. There is a case regarding the terrorism aspect of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) file.

Ayşe Barım's lawyers also send us messages from time to time regarding her health condition. I and other journalists have also written articles on the subject. So, it is clear that Ayşe Barım truly has a heart problem. My father also died of a heart condition recently when we least expected it. So, this heart issue is a serious matter. Let Ayşe Barım be treated at home or in a hospital. Murat Çalık has also lost a lot of weight in prison and his health is under threat. I think these two individuals can truly receive their treatments outside."
