A new development has occurred regarding journalist Cem Küçük.
Within the scope of an investigation coordinated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an order was issued to apprehend and detain Küçük on charges of "publicly disseminating misleading information" and "blackmail."
It was announced that Cem Küçük was apprehended and taken into custody on the same day.
The following statement was issued by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office:
Within the scope of the investigation conducted under the coordination of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an order was issued to the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) Branch Directorate on 30.07.2026 to apprehend and detain Cem KÜÇÜK (Journalist) for the crimes of "Publicly Disseminating Misleading Information and Blackmail."
The individual was apprehended and taken into custody on the same day.
