A comprehensive operation was carried out across the city yesterday evening in line with a drug investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. It was reported that the investigation has been expanded to cover the crimes of "use, possession, and facilitation of drugs or stimulant substances."
It was reported that among those detained were social media influencers as well as many people from various sectors. While the investigations carried out by security forces continue, it was stated that searches were conducted at various addresses linked to the incident with the assistance of narcotics dogs and that the evidence collection process is ongoing.
As part of the inspections carried out on many entertainment and restaurant businesses located in the Bebek neighborhood of Beşiktaş, Lucca, one of the popular venues, was also searched. During the raid conducted in the evening hours, some individuals, including the owner of the establishment, Cem Mirap, were taken into custody.
It is known that Cem Mirap is married to Okşan Bozkır, the daughter of former European Union Minister Volkan Bozkır, as noted by journalist Kübra Par in an article she wrote six years ago. Thus, following the latest operation, the political connections of Mirap, who was taken into custody, have also come to the fore.
