Cemil Tugay reveals for the first time what Özgür Özel said after his resignation! He answered the question 'Will a new party be founded?'

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay, who announced that he has left the CHP, made evaluations regarding the allegations that came to the agenda following his resignation decision. Stating that he left the CHP following the change in party management and the decisions taken, Tugay expressed that he will continue his political journey together with Özgür Özel.

WHAT DID ÖZGÜR ÖZEL SAY AFTER THE RESIGNATION?

Stating that he spoke with Özgür Özel before the resignation process, Tugay used the expressions, “We spoke with Özgür Özel before I resigned. He said, ‘It is your decision.’ We spoke again after the resignation. He said, ‘Well done. They deserve this.’”

"A NEW PARTY WILL BE FOUNDED AND I WILL BE THERE"

"I do not recognize the decisions that the null and void management will take, and the indication that I do not recognize them is my resignation from the party. From now on, I am following the political decisions that Özgür Özel and his staff will make. A new party will be founded and I will be there." said Tugay, and continued his statements as follows:

"We set out on this path together. It is impossible for me to act with any group other than Özgür Özel. It is out of the question for me to go to any party other than the party that Özgür Özel and his friends will found. My reason for resigning from the party is Kılıçdaroğlu’s appointment to the head of the party with absolute nullity and the expulsion and appointment decisions he made. I did not leave the CHP due to any ideological change of opinion. Turkey will go to elections at the end of 2027, and we have to do everything we can until this date. My resignation decision is final until Özgür Özel returns to the head of the CHP. If these things happen, I will also return to the CHP. There is no such thing as me switching to the AKP."
