Censorship of Devlet Bahçeli by MHP's official publication

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli visited the memorial tomb of Alparslan Türkeş on the occasion of Eid al-Adha and made various statements there. The term "founding leader," which Bahçeli used in reference to the ringleader of the terrorist organization PKK, Abdullah Öcalan, was removed from the news text by the newspaper Türkgün, which is known for its proximity to the MHP.

The statements made by Bahçeli following his visit to Alparslan Türkeş's memorial tomb on the occasion of Eid al-Adha were altered in the party's official publication, Türkgün Newspaper. The term 'founding leader' used by Bahçeli for Abdullah Öcalan while evaluating the PKK's decision to lay down arms appeared differently in the newspaper's print and digital versions.

Evaluating the agenda after the visit, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli drew attention to the PKK's decision to dissolve and lay down arms, stating, "This is an important step. It is the beginning of a new era in Turkey's fight against terrorism." However, the words "founding leader" that Bahçeli used for PKK ringleader Abdullah Öcalan in his speech did not appear in the report by Türkgün Newspaper, which is known for its proximity to the MHP.

In the June 7 print edition of Türkgün Newspaper, the term "founding leader" from Bahçeli's speech was not included. In the report published on the newspaper's website, the term "founding leader" was removed from the same sentence and replaced with the phrase "separatist terrorist activities."
