CEO threatens consumer who shared moldy chocolate: 'They really need us to get some clout'

A consumer who shared photos of moldy chocolate they purchased on their LinkedIn account faced backlash from the CEO of the company that sold the product. Elif Aslı Yıldız Tunaoğlu, the CEO of the chocolate brand in question, threatened the consumer with her lawyers, stating, "You are facing us and the giant MIGROS."

On the social media platform LinkedIn, a user shared photos of chocolates they had purchased from a famous manufacturer, writing, This is the first time I have witnessed moldy chocolate. Moreover, it is still within its expiration date. There is likely an issue with the storage conditions in the supply chain process.”

They also tagged Elif Aslı Yıldız Tunaoğlu, the CEO of the chocolate brand in question, in their post.

Tunaoğlu's response sparked backlash.

Telling the consumer, “You are facing us and the giant MIGROS,” Tunaoğlu stated the following:

“Do you know that these products never get moldy? Let's assume you're right. I think you should urgently check the humidity level in your home. And how sad it is that you have no other content to share on LinkedIn. You're right, everyone really needs us to get some clout. Look at those writing 'trash' and such below. Everyone is unaware of what our lawyers will demand regarding brand defamation, lowering brand value, etc. Also! If such a situation happens to us, you tell us and ask for compensation! You are facing the giant MIGROS and us. Everyone stands behind their product like that! Good luck to you. Our lawyers will be in contact with you, but I like to solve my own problems.”

DELETED POST AFTER BACKLASH

After receiving backlash on social media for the message she sent, Tunaoğlu deleted her comment.

In a message she shared on her Instagram account, Tunaoğlu stated that she is ‘not like other CEOs.’
