Kamuran Ersan, a municipal council member candidate for the CHP in the Süleymanpaşa district of Tekirdağ, has applied to the Provincial Election Board with the allegation that "the certificate of election, which should have been given to him following the resignation of the candidate ahead of him on the list, was given to another candidate."

In a statement to the press in front of the Tekirdağ Courthouse, Ersan stated that in the list submitted by the CHP to the Provincial Election Board on February 20 and announced to the public, he was seen to be in the 20th position on the candidate list.

ALLEGATION OF LIST MANIPULATION

Stating that the CHP was able to secure 19 seats in the election, Ersan claimed that although he should have received the certificate of election due to the resignation of the council member candidate in the 19th position, the certificate was instead given to the candidate in the 27th position.

Stating that this was against the law and that he had applied to the Provincial Election Board for the error to be corrected, Ersan said, "From now on, what the law says is what matters to me. I will follow the legal process for the error to be corrected."

STATED THAT "THERE WAS NO ERROR"

CHP Süleymanpaşa District Chair Ali Engin, on the other hand, stated that there was no error.

Confirming that their candidate in the 19th position resigned after they submitted the first list, Engin said, "Later, a second list was prepared; we moved the candidate in the 27th position to the 19th position, and Ersan, who is making the claim, was aware of the situation."
