Cevdet Yılmaz and Mehmet Şimşek to announce the Public Savings Package today: What measures will be taken?

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who announced the Public Savings Package following the Cabinet Meeting, will see the package unveiled today.

WHAT IS IN THE PUBLIC SAVINGS PACKAGE?

Providing clues about the savings package after the Cabinet Meeting, Erdoğan stated, "We will take steps to strengthen the culture of savings in many areas such as public vehicles, buildings, communication expenses, current expenditures, in-service training, foreign travel, and public employment."

SAVINGS MEASURES TO BE TAKEN IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR

• Accordingly, effective projects will be carried out with fewer resources.
• Public expenditures will be controlled more strictly.
• There will be a 10 percent cut in appropriations for the purchase of goods and services.
• There will be a 15 percent cut in investment appropriations.
• The goal is to achieve 100 billion liras in savings.
