Chain of negligence in Dilovası explosion: Insurance registered on the day of the blast
Following the explosion at a perfume factory that claimed the lives of 7 workers, a Social Security Institution (SGK) report has revealed that the uninsured workers were registered for just one day of insurance on the very day of the explosion.

In the Dilovası district of Kocaeli, 7 workers, including three minors, lost their lives in an explosion that occurred on November 8 at a perfume factory owned by Ravive Kozmetik. Investigations conducted after the incident have made the chain of negligence at the workplace even more apparent.
MOST WORKERS WERE EMPLOYED WITHOUT INSURANCE
According to information reported by journalist Alican Uludağ, it was determined that 12 out of the 13 workers at the factory were uninsured. The report prepared by Social Security Institution (SGK) inspectors found that the insurance for all of these workers, including those who lost their lives in the explosion, was registered on November 8, the day the explosion took place.
'ONE-DAY' INSURANCE REGISTERED ON THE DAY OF THE EXPLOSION
The SGK Investigation Report noted that the workplace had previously reported only one employee as insured. It was stated that no insurance notifications had been made prior to the incident for the 12 people, including Şengül Yılmaz, Tuğba Taşdemir, Cansu Esetoğlu, Nisanur Taşdemir, Esma Gikan, Hanım Gülek, and Tuncay Yıldız, who lost their lives in the explosion.
According to the report, these 12 employees were entered into SGK records as "insured for one day" only on the day of the explosion, with their insurance start dates recorded as November 8.
COMPLAINT FILED TO CIMER REMAINED UNRESOLVED
In an application made to the Presidential Communication Center (CİMER) on December 16, 2024, requesting an inspection of the factory, it was reported that 15 people, including women and children, were being employed without insurance and without occupational safety measures. It has emerged that despite the complaint, no inspection was carried out at the workplace.
7 ARRESTS IN THE INVESTIGATION, EMPLOYER DIED IN PRISON
In the investigation conducted regarding the explosion, 7 out of the 11 people detained were arrested, while 4 were released under judicial control. The workplace owner, Kurtuluş Oransal, who was among those arrested, passed away due to a heart attack while in Kandıra F-Type Prison.
