In a statement made on the CHD's social media account, it was noted that Önalan was detained following the operation at her home, and it was stated that information had been received that many of her clients were also detained at the same time.
In the association's post, it was stated, "Our Istanbul Branch President, lawyer Ezgi Önalan, was detained in a police operation conducted at her home in the early hours of the morning. We have received information that many of her clients were also detained simultaneously."
