Following the DEM Party's visit to İmralı, the call by PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan for the PKK to lay down its arms was read, and a call was made for the terrorist organization to dissolve itself.

While statements have been coming one after another from political parties following the call in question, comments regarding the call continue to arrive from the AKP front as well.

The latest assessment regarding the call was made by Chief Presidential Advisor Mehmet Uçum.

Uçum used the following expressions in the statement he made via his social media account:

THE GOAL OF A TERROR-FREE TURKEY IS BEING REALIZED STEP BY STEP!

Öcalan’s statement has been in line with the framework and content drawn by the State Initiative, which President Erdoğan and Mr. Bahçeli have expressed from the very beginning.

In essence, the statement declared: there is no longer an identity issue, denial has ended, there are no two nations, no two official languages, no two citizenships, no demand for autonomy, no demand for a federation. The Unitary State was upheld. It was emphasized that the internal Kurdish issue, which was expressed based on denial and rejection in Turkey, has been resolved; the issue is democracy, integrating with the state and society, and developing democracy. It was stated in definitive terms that all groups must lay down their arms and the terrorist organization must dissolve itself. The meaning of this is that the external Kurdish issue, which is an imperialist project imposed on Turkey through terror and aimed at dividing Turkey, is also on the path to ending; when terror is completely liquidated, this will also end, and this has been declared.

To what level this call will be complied with is now a practical issue; those who do not comply will face the consequences.

It was also seen what a great provocation those who tried to sabotage and poison the call and the new period through various methods before this call was made were in. They did not succeed, and they will not succeed from now on either.

It was said that there would be a call without bargaining, unconditionally and without reservations, and that is exactly what happened.

A new era is now beginning for Turkey.

From now on, just as it is everyone's demand and responsibility to further develop and strengthen democracy, it is also everyone's duty to protect Turkey's independence, geographical integrity, and political unity. No one has any excuse left to step aside, stay away, or stand in opposition.

We are Turkey together; we must now show this in every medium and in every field as a power of 86 million.
